Anyone here a Coldfusion / IIS guru or know anything about them.
I know my stuff but this has been plaguing me the past few days and google has failed me 23 times with answers.
Basically I have a site running Coldfusion on a 64bit Windows Server; IIS 7; Hooked up to a few SQL Server databases. In the database I have a table with two rows, old url and new url. The table contains the old url of the site they currently have and the new url is what it will be on the new site I built. In my file structure application.cfm I have an if statement that is checking the url for a match (so they can maintain their Google ranking or at least relatively keep it). If there's a match in the table when a user uses an old url it redirects them to the new page, if not it redirect to the home page.
My issue is that when the server locks up when trying ot do the redirect with a goo number of users hitting it. The 404 page in IIS is set to go to 404.cfm so application.cfm runs and checks the database. It will then 301 redirect them to the new page. Good theory except at some point locks up and continuously tries the same 404 page redirect over and over and over and over. When it locks up its just that site, not the other two that are there but the only way to get it back up is to restart IIS altogether as a whole (world wide publishing server in the services panel). There's no restriction on connection limtis to the server so its very strange.
Any insight is appreciated.
