TK- "One thing that Japan has lots of is Communications company competition, and lack of Federal regulations on how things should be governed in regards to intenet connections. Which means we are pretty lucky with speeds here, Standard connections here are 40-50mb DSL connections, and the falling prices of fiber optics makes for a tempting choice. There is a month or 2 waiting period here, most services here offer wireless and viop service like they do in the states. You would think a terrabyte of hard disk space is too much but no! Another thing is that most major stations as well macdonalds and other fast food places here have free hot spots so you can surf the web!!!"

3,150.00 JPY Japan Yen = 26.9966 USD United States Dollars
Thats crazy, wish it was that much here for one of those lines. I pay 50 a month for a 5 meg cable line with an 800kb upstream.

It will be more than a few years in the USA. There are currently speed restrictions in place. That is so stupid. (sigh) Now Canada I believe can surf up to 10MB.
