TK- "Over here is turning into a swipe and spend lifestyle, you thought your credit card was lethal. Imagine your phone being able to pay for alot of things just by swiping it on the counter.............so damn convenient and saves time. All the major phone makers are putting out these smart phones................." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The marriage of mobile phones and public transportation is scheduled to begin when Japan's largest train company,East Japan Railway Company (JR East),is scheduled to launch a service named Mobile Suica,"the EETimes reports."The new service will enable mobile phone users to conduct all ticket-related transactions such as reservations, purchases and fare collection. Moreover,Mobile Suica-ready phones can be used to pay for purchases in stories at JR East railway stations and other stores that support the service".

I heard a little about that in the news... and you think it's bad now when you lose your phone and you have to get a new one, just wait till you lose it and someone racks up a bunch of charges with it in just an hour or two.
Seriously though, I'm sure someone has thought of that and they have some kind of safeguard in place to deal with theft and mis-use. It's an obvious technological 'next-step' for identification and transactions and adds a lot of convenience to purchasing.
It's too bad we lag behind a few years with technology in the US. I would like this feature here now.
Oh, and does the girl come bundled with the phone??

who needs the phone...just take the girl... absolutely. took the words right out of my mouth. If only they could put those sensors in a bra I might consider working as a bagger in the supermarket. "I'm sorry, maam, it didnt' register. Here, try swiping my hand-held."
